XL Wide Loads? No Problem!
Our Kioti tractor is easily our most used tool on our homestead and we're always finding ways to work smarter and harder. And the pallet forks are probably our favorite attachment for moving things around on the homestead, especially if we hold onto those old pallets that seem to collect.

Rebuilding our Grizzly dirt sifter in time for the arrival of our greenhouse and the prep that we need to do to build it. That is, sifting a ton of dirt! This version is more rugged and should be durable enough to last for years. Going Around in Circles - Dome Greenhouse Build
Переглядів 1,8 тис.14 днів тому
The fun part about building a dome greenhouse, is that everything is round (sort of!). Building a round-ish building has its challenges, but has a cool aesthetic. We're also switching things up by planting in round tubes! We're getting a head start this week on planting some of our garden, OUTSIDE of the greenhouse! DIY Rustic Barn Wood Murphy Bed|Folding Wall Bed
Переглядів 2,3 тис.Місяць тому
This fun project allows us to turn a laundry room into a true multipurpose room, allowing it to become a guest room, with the addition of a pull down wall bed, otherwise known as a Murphy Bed. We bought a hardware kit on Amazon, which included the instructions for the construction of the bed itself and added our own rustic final touches, including barn wood and an iron knocker for a handle. We Cheaped Out on this Project and Paid the Price
It's nice to have these projects going. That justifies buying all the neat tools to do the work. Just ask my wife. 😀
BRAIN them legs almost blinded me 😂😂😅😂.
Let the sifting begin.
woohoo!!!
Looking super pretty out there this time of year! Need me a trip out west!! Missing the mountains!
You should! (it's a night and day difference from last time you were here LOL)
That sifter should work great. I built a small hand-shovel version that gave me nice soil to work with as I expanded our garden.
Very cool!
Hog panels have smaller openings, and are built like cattle panels, also cyclone fencing has also be used for those, suggestion IF those don't work. also if you want a finer sift a smaller mech like you used before can be laid over the top of what you have, for strength !!!
We have options- thanks for sharing!
Good job Brian 👏 Looks like it will handle the task.
I hope so!
👍
A demonstration in use woulda been a nice ending to the vid.
That will be the next one!
I would think you'd be better off thru bolting it together rather than using the wood screws. and maybe chain-link fencing for the grid.
There are some timber bolts & lag bolts in the construction (just not caught on video).
Brian, Maybe you could put skids on the bottom so you can to it with the tractor to wherever you need it.
Thanks- going to put on a 2x4 on the back so I can just use the pallet forks to lift & move it
Wow, thanks for sharing this.
No worries!
I was driving my mini 2013 crossing the vail pass, but it had so much trouble getting some power and speed. Have to go over 4rpm to get to 65mph😮.
Wow interesting!
The Barnwood look is soooo cool! The whole process looks uncomplicated, but that says lots about your talents!
Thanks so much!!
wow that Stihl is week for its size and weight
weak, you mean? we didn't think so
Geogrid is more suitable
it's about the same thing
can't wait to see your greenhouse finished ! i just got a Ecells 5 star bike a few days ago , 1500 watts it fly's up dory hill road in PAS 2 OR 3 if i hit the throttle you better be hanging on , got the wife a Lectrict 3.0 it's only 500 watts , i might of got her one of these i like the dual batteries but i hadn't heard of them , she's only 4' 11 and needs a step through with 20' tires i think yours would have been perfect with more watts . some day we'll meet up with you guys maybe when your greenhouse is done 🙂
I know it!! Just got the delivery this week, but still need to complete the foundation & inspections first, so it's slow going. Can't even imagine 1500watts!! holy smoke- must be like a motor cycle. We will be participating in the peak to peak art studio tour 3rd weekend of september, so that would be the perfect time to swing by and see the greenhouse set up & Amy's art in person.
Hmmm. No mention of the light package on it or not much on the accessory packages. In your territory, saddlebags, basketry, holsters, tools, bear spray, charge times, wet weather gear... Yeah, questions.
Sorry we weren't thorough enough on that for ya. It did come with the headlight, but I wouldn't take it out in the rain. It's more of a joy ride- zip on down to the pizza or pub and such.
I would have installed steel thin square first wire mesh thru out, then Geocell expand cell more, then compacting to increase to cell size. For one man job, well done!
Great idea
@@ColoradoMountainLiving thanks, just forget, add spray resin thru to grovel for moving during heavy rain, but more on edges due to grovels are on the slope. Planning to do mine as noted
Handy and fun too. But you need a second one so you can each ride your own. And a big basket for Viggo!
Haha- I like the sound of that!
It can't always be all work and no play. Nice bike and cool stills and video of riding the E-bike. Thanks for Sharing Guys...
You got that right!
This was a fun video. I have never seen people smile so much!
Thanks!!
I was out on mine today. E-bikes are needed in Boulder and the foothills! Makes you feel 10 years younger! :):)
Agreed! It’s a whole lot of fun.
9300ft! Wow. Is it harder doing physical work at that altitude? You would have to climb some of our highest mountains here in NZ to get that high.
haha. yeah you get out of breath quickly going up and down hills, or stairs.
I love my e-bike. I made sure mine has a throttle and the hills are a breeze now. You can still pedal. I have bad knees. I always wanted a scooter. You did a good job presented the bike.
Thanks! Yes- I agree with you about the hills and just having fun again!
More of an infomercial. Hope youre build starts soon.
We're getting there- it's a slow process, thus the infomercial break lol.
Hey guys ❤ I know You're on the western slope, but I'm considering moving from the front range to the San Luis valley. Land is cheap and less regulated than Northern CO. Do you have any tips regarding true desert homesteading?
Actually we are technically on the front range- just 45 minutes west of Boulder so we don't really have the desert climate here. Definitely more moisture and aspens.
Are they delivering your green house in a kit and you two are putting it up?
Correct! Should be 2 tons of fun LOL!
@@ColoradoMountainLiving I hope it doesn't snow before you get it done.
Thanks for showing us the Gardensoxx system that I wouldn't have otherwise been aware of. I'm anxious to see how it will perform over time, so I'll be watching. Getting excited for the Dome!
Thanks! I saw the garden soxx in a documentary and was blown away- figured I had to try it to see for myself!
Это будет самая лучшая теплица в горах колорадо.
Yes!!! We hope so
Brian is determined on finding that meteor that left that crater. that looks like a wonderful idea Amy good luck you guys. Thanks for Sharing.
Hahahaha!!!
👍 Shurrrr would be nice to come up with some way to heat a nice cobblestone path down to that beauty, even just a little narrow one.
That would be cool!
Thanks
No problem
Good job on the site prep Bryan 👏. Can't wait to see the next episode..
Thanks 👍
Should be an interesting build.
For sure!
Her suit is bright white… that’s all I need to know.
sounds like you drew one conclusion without all the information. (check my bee suit cleaning video)
Looking good guys! For others who may be interested in purchasing a Growing Dome and pouring a similar foundation, we do have templates that we rent out! We have already done the calculations for you so that you can do less math and more gardening!
Thanks for the info! That sounds like a time saver!
How exciting! I look forward to witnessing your progress!
Thank you!!
So awesome! I was wondering how tall you are? I'm thinking about ordering one and I am about 6'2 6'3
Bryan is 6 ft and I'm 5 ft 2
very cool.
thanks!
Roundup is useless on thistle. The leaves will “curl” slightly but doesn’t kill the weed.
yeah we don't use it
Nice but small I have a lance 900..
NIce
It would be interesting to do a radon test once it gets going
a radon test? we have a radon fan in our basement
@@ColoradoMountainLiving the geo dome with ground ventilation lol
Your plants look great. Thanks for the video.
Thank you!
👍 yay again I use a large rock or cement block to as a bump stop for the rebar when making numerous cuts that short.
That's smart!
He's lovin every minute of it.
haha!
Look into the glass fiber rebar ;)
Intriguing!
No worries, Brian has this. Nice little watering system.
Thanks 👍
I'm excited for you. Can't wait to watch this one
It's hard to be patient lol!
So happy to have found this channel. I live at 10,600ft. elevation. Just started my garden and am planning to get a greenhouse. Can't wait to learn from everyone.
Good luck! What perfect timing. Our greenhouse build will be happening all summer, so I'm sure we will all learn a lot.
